New composite polyurethane water tank standard on Putzmeister boom pumps

STURTEVANT, WI (August 10, 2009) – Putzmeister America, Inc. debuted its new composite polyurethane or plastic water tank on a 40Z-Meter Series II Detach Boom Pump at the World of Concrete 2009 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The new plastic water tank is now standard on all Putzmeister truck-mounted concrete boom pumps.

“The new patent-pending plastic water tank has similar features of the previous steel water tank integrated into its design such as, two-way water pump mounting location, water cleanout ports, water-level sight gauge and safety related decals,” notes Jim Bury, Putzmeister America’s director of engineering. “What makes this water tank unique is that its plastic, which, combined with the hopper lid that is also plastic, will reduce the weight of 2009 models by 500 pounds (227kg).

“In addition, Putzmeister customers don’t have to worry about rusting or corrosion.”

A convenient conversion in the form of a retrofit to go from steel to plastic tank, and a water tank heater are also available to customers on request.
