Putzmeister America, Inc. Certified ISO: 9001:2008
Putzmeister America, Inc. Certified ISO: 9001:2008STURTEVANT, WI (October 22, 2009) – Putzmeister America, Inc. is now certified to the newest 9001:2008 quality standard. The manufacturer was first certified ISO: 9001 back in 1998 and later certified to ISO 9001:2000 in 2003.
The ISO 9001:2008 clarifies requirements in the 2000 edition; there were no new requirements Putzmeister America needed to achieve to obtain the new certification. The new certification affirms the way the company interpreted and implemented the 2000 edition and that it matched the intent of its authors. Putzmeister was already doing everything that was and is required.
“Putzmeister America’s ISO program has changed since our last certification,” says Jim Bury, director of engineering for Putzmeister America. “We are now within the Putzmeister Concrete Pumps GmbH ISO umbrella program. Because we are a part of that program, we are audited by Germany-based TUV.
Although Putzmeister America did not have to meet any new requirements for the certification, the new standards were reviewed and preliminary informal audits were conducted before the final audit was held. In August 2009 TUV conducted the final audit to verify Putzmeister America was in compliance.
“The certification is not for show; it’s an important symbol of our commitment and dedication to creating the best, serving the best, and continuously improving everything we do,” comments Bury. “Certification does not by itself guarantee quality; it is our living within the intent of the standard that pushes us to create the full line of world-class equipment and services that we do. In ISO terms, we ‘say what we do and do what we say,’ so that ultimately our customers and business partners will see us as an integral part of their success, because we will deliver the best available in all categories.”
