New Semi-trailer Telebelt® TBS 130 Makes Premier Debut at Bauma 2010

STURTEVANT, WI (May 24, 2010) – Putzmeister America, Inc., a leading manufacturer of concrete and material placing equipment, unveiled its newest telescopic belt conveyor, the Telebelt® TBS 130, at Bauma 2010, held April 19-25 in Munich, Germany.

While news of the Telebelt TBS 130 was announced at the 2010 World of Concrete trade show, the Bauma debut marks the first time the public was able to view Putzmeister’s latest model. Ideal for mass concrete and material placement, the Telebelt TBS 130 features a unique semi-trailer mount that gives contractors greater mobility, a tighter turning radius and reduced axle loads.

“One of the greatest benefits of the new TBS series of Telebelts is the ability for contractors worldwide to use a tractor chassis of their preference,” notes Bob Weiglein, Putzmeister America’s Telebelt division manager. “This allows the semi-trailer Telebelt to be customized to meet local weight requirements.”

With the TBS 130, material placement does not rely on the chassis engine, but rather on its self-contained EPA Tier 3 and EU Stage 3A engine. This lowers operational costs and reduces fuel consumption by matching the engine output to the needs of the Telebelt operation.

“Without the need for the chassis during operation, the machine footprint can be reduced on-site,” says Weiglein. “Operators can convey concrete on one job, and free up the chassis for other tasks. A towable dolly is available to move the TBS 130 on-site with a dozer, wheel loader or other available equipment.”

The Telebelt TBS 130 provides fast and surge-free conveying of flowable material, from sand to four-inch rock. It features a 126' 6" (38.56m) horizontal reach and sets up under low 15' 4" (4.70m) heights. The TBS 130 can be driven with a two- or three-axle chassis, while the trailer is configured with three axles.

The semi-trailer Telebelt is also offered in the higher-capacity TBS 600. This unit achieves high outputs of 10 yd3/min (7.65m3/min) due to its wider 24-inch (610mm) feed and conveyor belts.
