Fishing Tournament Lures Customers to Pioneer Concrete Pumping EventNovel Idea Results in Successful Customer Appreciation Outing
STURTEVANT, Wis. (May 3, 2006) – To further promote its use of Putzmeister pumps and show its customer appreciation, Pioneer Concrete Pumping of Atlanta invited major contractors to the company’s specially organized fishing tournament on Lake Sinclair.
“We wanted to do something more novel than a picnic or golf outing for those who utilize our pumping services,” says Pioneer Sales Manager Dan Inglese. “The idea of a fishing competition materialized and turned out to be an ideal fit for customers within our industry. Everyone had an incredible time.”
Held in late April, the event began with an evening dinner whereby professional bass fisherman, Mickey Bruce was the guest speaker. Bruce provided strategic fishing tips along with handing out Putzmeister door prizes that were generously supplied by the manufacturer. Prior to the event’s conclusion, Pioneer salesman and the event’s MC, Chuck Maddox presented the humorous “Angler of the Month” award to guest Michael Clark.
The next day started at the crack of dawn with 29 boats blasting off on Lake Sinclair. Each boat contained an anxious fisherman eager to catch any amount of fish that would total the greatest weight. When the tournament ended at 3:00 pm, the prize-winning catch went to a boat with ten pounds of large mouth bass. “De-tails” of the successful event will be told for years to come.
