Putzmeister Water Technology Introduces 45me DRI Water Dehydrator and FilterNew product removes water and contaminants from hydraulic oil
STURTEVANT, Wisconsin (January 8, 2007) – At this year’s World of Concrete, Putzmeister Water Technology will unveil the 45me DRI dehydrator and filter. This new model is specifically designed to efficiently remove water and eliminate the negative effects of water and contamination on hydraulic systems.
Water in oil promotes its degradation and accelerates its aging. In addition, water in a hydraulic system will increase foaming (and resultant cavitation) and reduce lubrication, resulting in costly component wear, maintenance and failure. Water is present as a result of ambient humidity, splash water and water ingested past hydraulic seals on cylinders. It is also present in all new oil.
Efficiently removing free, dissolved and emulsified water and dirt from oils and lubrication fluids, the 45me DRI is a self-contained, compact and easy-to-use model that rolls into place for connection to the oil reservoir in less than five minutes. The model then pumps oil from the reservoir and circulates it through the filter and dehydrator before returning it to the reservoir filling point. A built in oil heating system improves efficiency and effectiveness.
The 45me DRI includes a high capacity 3 micron absolute spin-on multi-layer element filter sized to provide extended life and a differential pressure gauge showing when the filter needs to be changed. Filter element replacement is fast and easy. Unlike typical water removal cartridges that require regular daily replacement, the dehydration element in the 45me DRI has an expected life of five years with regular daily use.
“The 45me DRI extends component life and increases up-time of all hydraulic systems,” says Eric Zimmermann, General Manager of Putzmeister’s Water Technology Division. “So, not only is it ideal for the hydraulic systems on Putzmeister’s concrete pumping equipment, it will it work very effectively on all types of machines.”
Featuring easy setup, the suction line is connected to a convenient point on the oil reservoir and the return line is inserted to the filler point. The 45me DRI dehydrator in a typical 100-gallon reservoir will lower the water concentration from 2400ppm to 400ppm over a 10- to 12-hour period, while at the same time removing harmful contaminants from the oil.
Quality built to Putzmeister’s exacting standards, the 45me DRI is cost effective, economical, compact and easy to store. The design includes built in dirt indicator and oil heater for maximum efficiency and is ideal in cooler climates.
The 45me DRI can also be used to empty or fill a reservoir. In 15 minutes a 55-gallon drum of oil can be filtered and transferred into the tank, further ensuring hydraulic system cleanliness.
