Putzmeister Unveils New 63Z-Meter as World’s LARGEST Concrete Boom PumpNew model boasts longest reach and advanced Ergonic® Technology
STURTEVANT, Wis. (March 15, 2005) – At this year’s CONEXPO-CON/AGG, Putzmeister unveils the largest truck-mounted concrete boom pump in the world – the new 63Z-Meter.
The latest Putzmeister BSF 63Z.16H model offers the longest reach available by any concrete boom pump in today’s global market. At record-setting heights, it reaches over 200-ft vertically and 190-ft, 7-inches horizontally. Its special five-section boom (designed specifically for the North American market) and its versatile Z-fold configuration help achieve exceptional boom maneuverability in difficult-to-reach areas.
Dave Adams, President and CEO of Putzmeister America says, “Putzmeister developed the first 62-Meter almost 20 years ago, and it held the record as the world’s largest boom pump until we exceeded our own success with the introduction of the new 63Z. Today’s version is a complete redesign using the latest technology.”
One of the most revolutionary advances is Putzmeister Ergonic© technology, a main control system that encompasses various modules. These include EBC for the boom, EPS for the pump, and various operational functions to accommodate future developments. The 63Z-Meter, in particular, features all existing Ergonic technology as standard equipment.
“The Ergonic system is far superior to anything on the market today, as it goes beyond just monitoring performance. It also allows the operator the ability to actually set parameters to control the boom, the pump and various other functions,” adds Dave Adams.
Under the Ergonic umbrella is the revolutionary new Ergonic Pump Control System (EPS). A major part of EPS is inclusion of an Ergonic Graphic Display (EGD) system, which allows the operator to both view functions from a unique modular control box with 3-inch square LCD screen and also change selected pump settings such as number of strokes, pressure limits, truck rpm, etc.
Still another feature of the pump control system or EPS is Ergonic Output Control (EOC), which can be switched on or off via the control panel or radio remote. EOC automatically controls optimum engine rpm, lowest possible fuel consumption, reduced wear, and low noise levels.
In addition to controlling the pump, another important part of the company’s overall Ergonic system is monitoring and controlling the boom with Ergonic Boom Control (EBC). This provides minimal boom bounce, built-in safety mechanisms, and easy trouble-shooting devices. EBC also includes OneTouchTM, whereby a single joystick automatically moves all boom sections and slewing in tandem, while keeping the end hose level.
When pumping, the 63Z features its exclusive free flow hydraulics with more defined strokes for improved valve switch-over along with smooth and controllable concrete output. When servicing the unit, both the bolt-on flat pack and the bolt-on modular hydraulic system can be fully removed for better access.
For added convenience in handling larger jobs, the 63Z features standard auto lubrication of the unit’s boom, pedestal and hopper; a rugged 900 Series hopper with Big Mouth S-Valve; and proportional radio remote controls for precise boom positioning.
The 63Z-Meter is mounted on a seven-axle Mack or Tor chassis for an extremely tight turning radius. With the maneuverability of its rear-steerable configuration, the truck provides an efficient design for higher performance both on-road and off.
During the CONEXPO-CON/AGG, attendees can view the 63Z-Meter on prominent display at the outdoor Putzmeister booth #S-815. For more immediate information, contact Putzmeister America at (800) 884-7210, (262) 886-3200.
