Putzmeister Introduces Steady End Hose

An Innovation Award winner at the 2007 BAUMA show in Munich this past April, Putzmeister’s new patent pending Steady End Hose (logo shown above) is designed to minimize the effects of end hose movement, for safer and easier concrete placement.

Easier to handle and made of a more rigid material than a traditional end hose (shown in top photo), the Putzmeister Steady End Hose (shown in bottom photo) helps the hose man position the concrete with less effort. It is also more controllable in the event of a sudden surge of concrete. The Steady End Hose is available through the Putzmeister Customer Support department for use with any boom pump model.

Award-winning technology showcased at BAUMA 2007 debuts in North America

STURTEVANT, WI (July 30, 2007) – An Innovation Award winner at the 2007 BAUMA show in Munich this past April, Putzmeister’s new patent pending Steady End Hose is designed to minimize the effects of end hose movement, for safer and easier concrete placement. The award is given by Verband Deutscher Maschinen- und Anlagenbau (VDMA) – a German Engineering Federation, one of the key association service providers in Europe.

The organization offers the largest engineering industry network in Europe. “Most end hoses used on a boom pump react to uncontrolled pressure changes in the concrete with strong lateral deflections,” says Ian Moore, Director of Customer Support at Putzmeister America, Inc. “This usually occurs when air is trapped or a blockage is cleared. The new Steady End Hose significantly reduces these unpredictable and sometimes dangerous deflections, helping prevent the most frequent cause of injury associated with concrete pumps.”

A specially-designed reinforced fabric helps the Steady End Hose significantly reduce the movement often encountered when pumping concrete. In the event of a blockage, the Steady End Hose dampens lateral deflections and excess vibrations.

"The Putzmeister Steady End Hose is easier to handle than a traditional hose,” says Tom Inglese, area manager for Pioneer Concrete Pumping of Smyrna, Georgia. “It is made of a more rigid material which helps the hose man position the concrete with less effort. In the event of a sudden surge of concrete, the Steady End Hose is more controllable."

Available in three- and four-meter versions with both 125mm and 100mm internal diameters, Steady End Hose is an option that may be purchased by contacting the Putzmeister Customer Support department at 1-800-890-0269.
