Putzmeister Improves Hopper Design for Entire Boom Pump Line
Putzmeister Improves Hopper Design for Entire Boom Pump LinePutzmeister America recently introduced a new hopper for an easier and quicker washout process after pumping concrete. The E-Z Clean-out Hopper, with its specially designed shape, will be standard on all new Putzmeister boom pumps.
The E-Z Clean-out Hopper features four precisely angled sides that were engineered to eliminate "dead spots." This new shape prevents concrete from settling in these troublesome areas. As a result, the hopper is easier to clean and the wash-out process is much faster.
The hopper's shape also dictates how concrete is fed into the valve. Tom Teubel , Putzmeister's vice president of sales and marketing, explained, "With our new unit, a continuous flow of concrete funnels down the hopper into the S-Valve. Because of this, the concrete pump doesn't have to work as hard, and it has increased energy to push concrete through the pipeline." In addition, the new hopper design prevents "bridging" – a process whereby rocks separate from the concrete, create a dam and cause blockages.
The E-Z Clean-Out hopper also incorporates all the high performance features of its predecessor, the RS 905. These include a large hopper capacity, low hopper height for easy mixer discharging, special hard facing of the remixer augers for longer life and a standard vibrator.
Shortly after the E-Z Clean-out Hopper was offered as a pump option, customers expressed their high level of satisfaction with its performance. As a result, this "field-tested" hopper is being incorporated on all current production Putzmeister boom pumps ranging from 24 to 55 meters.
