Putzmeister Concrete Pumps GmbH International Meeting Draws Crowd of 5,000Global 50th anniversary celebration continues
STURTEVANT, WI (July 28, 2008) – As part of the year-long festivities celebrating the 50-year anniversary of Putzmeister America Inc.’s parent company, Putzmeister Concrete Pumps GmbH, an international meeting was held May 30 through June 1, 2008 at the organization’s headquarters in Aichtal, Germany.
The event was labeled a “great success” by company organizers who saw approximately 1,500 people during the day at tours of the factory and 1,200 guests at the special invitation party on May 31st. Over 5,000 people were in attendance over the course of three days. This included guests to “Family Day” on June 1st.
“We had a full complement of weather during the event,” says Putzmeister America President & CEO Dave Adams. “But from sun to heavy rains and even a thunderstorm, nothing could dampen the spirits of the diverse international group that was gathered.”
Visitors were treated to the different atmospheres, sounds and tastes of the cultures represented by Putzmeister’s global companies inside large tents that were scattered around the Aichtal campus. Equipment on display included everything from the new 70Z-Meter truck-mounted concrete boom pump to some early concrete pump models and mortar machines, as well as the whole range of contemporary Putzmeister products including Telebelts®, shotcrete equipment and industrial pumps.
During the large party on May 31st, attendees heard remarks by Putzmeister founder Dipl-Ing. Karl Schlecht, Managing Director of Putzmeister Holding GmbH Dr. Ralf von Baer and Chairman of the Executive Board and CEO of Putzmeister Concrete Pumps GmbH, Felix Selinger. In addition, a representative of the Aichtal Chamber of Commerce and the former Prime Minister of Baden Württemberg, Mr. Erwin Teufel addressed the group.
“It is a pleasure to be part of such a distinguished group of companies as those that comprise the Putzmeister Group,” notes Adams. “It is amazing what has been accomplished in a short 50 years.”
During the celebration, Adams took the opportunity to hand over the keys of Associated Concrete Pumping’s new 70Z-Meter to owner Mike Parigini. The world’s largest concrete boom pump arrived in California this summer.
