Putzmeister Announces Thom-Katt Trailer Pump Enhancements

Select Thom-Katt models feature twin-shifting cylinders

On the first anniversary of the introduction of the Katt-Kreter pump, Putzmeister America has announced several significant enhancements to its TK Series of trailer-mounted pumps and VS Series of vehicle-mounted pumps. These machines are designed for shotcreting or pumping 30 to 70 yd3 (23 to 54 m3) of 11/2-inch-minus (-38 mm) aggregate mixes or masonry grout per hour.

An important change is the addition of a twin-shifting cylinder package to many trailer- and truck-mounted Thom-Katt models. This design is not only more durable, but it also delivers more accurate shifting of the S-tube, reduces line surge and lowers operating costs. The cylinder package design also improves the positive shifting of the S-tube for additional power to handle low-slump concrete and aggregates up to 11/2 inch diameter. This feature is now standard with the Katt-Kreter, TK 50, TK 70, and high-pressure TK 15HP and TK 50HP models.

Other improvements to the TK Series of pumps include a wider, highway-rated trailer for improved towing. Many TK models now feature a new 27-gallon (102 L) fuel tank that lets operators pump concrete up to 12 hours without refueling. A fuel-efficient, water-cooled 79-horsepower (59 kW) turbo Deutz engine has been added to several models. Putzmeister has also lowered the charging height on most models.
