Putzmeister Announces Lineup of Jumbo-Size Re-Mixing Hoppers

STURTEVANT, Wis. ( Feb. 2, 2004 ) – Putzmeister America is introducing a line of specially designed re-mixing hoppers that are ideal for large concrete jobs. The jumbo-sized hoppers are especially useful in tunneling projects because they have a large capacity to receive, store and mix concrete and can provide continuous feeding to a pump between deliveries.

Three standard models are available at 4-yard, 6-yard and 13-yard capacities (3,000, 5,000 and 10,000 liters respectively). With the two larger models, a typical mixer truck basically can discharge its entire load and be dispatched for another batch.

The rubber-lined hoppers feature sloped sides and twin augers that offer variable speed and bi-directional operation for efficiently mixing and feeding a pump. Concrete can be fed to the pump at speeds from 0-125 yards per hour. The units are powered by an electric motor driving a hydraulic pump and are offered in rail- or skid-mounted versions. Other special mounting options are also available.
