Putzmeister America, Inc. Applauds Distributors at 2009 World of Concrete EventAwards for outstanding achievement presented to distributors
STURTEVANT, WI (February 16, 2009) – Kicking off the 2009 World of Concrete, Putzmeister America, Inc. celebrated the achievements of its distributors in 2008 at a reception in the Mouton Salon at the Wynn Las Vegas.
Held Monday, February 2nd, Putzmeister America took over the Mouton Salon and featured elegant food, drinks, dancing, entertainment from the Blues Brothers as well as the distributor awards presentation. Putzmeister America President and CEO Dave Adams and CEO of Putzmeister Concrete Pumps GmbH (PCP) and Putzmeister Holding GmbH (PMH) Dr. Ralf von Baer, started things off with introductory remarks.
“It’s hard to believe that World of Concrete is already here,” says Adams. “This last year has been a tough one for all of us to swallow in the concrete construction industry but if we continue to support each other we will make it through 2009 together, stronger and more resilient. Even though the state of the economy is not at its best we salute you for your outstanding achievements and determination.”
“I’m pleased to be with you all tonight to celebrate your achievements this past year.” adds von Baer. “We are a special company to have such a loyal group of distributors.”
First to be commended was J&M Service, Inc. of Garden Grove, California for outstanding sales in mortar machines in 2008. Smyrna, Georgia-based Concrete Pump Supply was recognized for top domestic sales in Thom-Katts® while Lanz-Putzmeister Chile Ltda. received honors for international Thom-Katt® sales.
Dick Hite of Neapolis, Ohio-based Hite Concrete Equipment Ltd., was acknowledged for leading large line domestic sales in 2008. Taking home the large line international distributor of the year award was Daniel and Peter Mamopulakos of Elevadores y Bombedoras C.A. of Venezuela.
“It is evident that all Putzmeister distributors, especially these award winners, take great pride in the sale and service of Putzmeister equipment,” says Adams. “They work together with Putzmeister America to provide exactly what customers need.”
Several companies were also honored with length of service awards, which recognize longevity as Putzmeister America distributors. Recognized for five years of service were: Best Equipment and Services Co., Best Equipment and Services, S.A., Concrete Pumping Equipment – Australia, Differencial Services, Hite Concrete Equipment Ltd. and Macalite Equipment, Inc. Recognized for 10 years of service were: Agencia Alemana de Nicaragua S.A., Elevadores y Bombedoras C.A., J&M Service, Inc., Star Equipment Company and Western States Equipment Co. For 15 years of service, Tecun S.A. and SS & L, Inc. were recognized and for an outstanding 20 years of service were: Corona Equipment Company, Inc., Concrete Pump Supply and Walker Equipment Company.
Following the presentation of the awards, the Blues Brothers rolled in with a few fast moves and sung a few tunes to get the crowd moving.
Before closing the event, Adams raised a toast to the late Terry Smith, former Putzmeister America President and CEO. Smith passed away from cancer in September 2008. “Terry will be sorely missed by many; he was a mentor to me for many years and was a key contributor to Putzmeister America’s success. Please raise your glass to him.”
As the night drew to a close Adams notes, “We thank you, our distributors, for your unwavering support and congratulate you on your milestones this past year. We look forward to seeing you next year at World of Concrete 2010.”
