STURTEVANT, WI (July 2, 2008) – Putzmeister America, Inc. is pleased to share a series of new promotions for existing employees as well as a new opportunity within the Putzmeister family for Vice President & Chief Operating Officer, Stefan Fritz.
Fritz will be returning to Putzmeister Concrete Pumps GmbH (PMGmbH) in Aichtal, Germany, August 1, 2008 as Director Global Supply Chain, Logistics & Product Production. After joining Putzmeister in September 1991, he held several positions within the organization, including boom design and Director of Materials and Purchasing. He became Vice President & COO of Putzmeister America in August 2002 following postings at PMGmbH from 1999-2002, Putzmeister Shanghai as Technical Director from 1996-1999 and PMGmbH from 1991-1996.
“During his tenure,” says Putzmeister America President & CEO, Dave Adams, “Stefan has worked diligently with our German parent company to ensure we had the necessary parts and materials to meet our standard operating procedures (SOP) and oversaw the expansion and reorganization of the Sturtevant facilities, among other responsibilities. His most recent project has been overseeing the implementation of Toyota Production System (TPS) into our production lines to ensure we are working as effectively and efficiently as possible. He is a hard worker, a smart guy and a very unique individual. He will be missed a great deal.”
Fritz's position will be split between two individuals who have demonstrated significant contributions to Putzmeister America. In June 2008, Doug Bulgrin was promoted to Director of Operations and Jim Bury was promoted to Director of Engineering. Both are new members of the Putzmeister America executive management team and will report directly to Adams.
In his new position, Bulgrin is responsible for Operations, Production, Supply Chain and Facilities. He has been with Putzmeister America as Supply Chain Manager since September 2005 and has over 25 years of experience in supply chain and materials management. Since joining the company, he has implemented his material management expertise to enhance supply chain quality improvement programs and inventory data flow that have provided Putzmeister with significant savings – both in time and costs.
Bury’s responsibilities now include oversight of Engineering, Documentation, Quality and Test Stand. He began his career with Putzmeister America in November 1998 as Design Engineer and was also our Design Group Manager. His most recent title was Manager of Engineering, Documentation and Quality where he was instrumental in several design changes and product innovations, keeping Putzmeister a step ahead in a competitive marketplace. He also represents Putzmeister in industry associations by being active in both the American Concrete Pumping Association (ACPA) and the Concrete Pump Manufacturer’s Association (CPMA).
Putzmeister America’s Director of Customer Support, Ian Moore has also been promoted to Vice President – Customer Support Group. Moore came to the States on a temporary assignment after various global postings for Putzmeister. Since 2002, he has handled positions in the Wisconsin, California and Washington offices where he has made a huge difference to the group. Moore is accountable for field and in-house customer support, aftermarket parts sales, warranty administration, the West Coast Customer Support Center, training and all related technical support functions.
Another manager promoted to the Executive Staff, Kathi Haugh is now Director of Human Resources. Haugh has been with Putzmeister America as Human Resources Manager for more than seven years. Her new role will enable her to implement new initiatives to facilitating and expediting internal communication and employee relations. Haugh is a human resources professional with over 25 years of experience, including the role of human resources consultant, participation in Leading the Well Workplace initiative in the Racine Well City program as well as membership on community boards and roundtables.
“All of these individuals are highly knowledgeable about Putzmeister products, operations and our commitment to customer service,” comments Adams. “As a team, they bring to our Executive Staff extensive knowledge and experience that will ensure our continued growth.”
