Putzmeister America, Inc. 70Z-Meter Truck-Mounted Boom Pump a Hit at World of Concrete 2009
Putzmeister America, Inc. 70Z-Meter Truck-Mounted Boom Pump a Hit at World of Concrete 2009STURTEVANT, WI (February 16, 2009) – Further expanding the reach and capabilities of its broad line of truck-mounted concrete boom pumps, Putzmeister America, Inc. debuted its much anticipated 70Z-Meter truck-mounted concrete boom pump, introduced in 2008, at World of Concrete 2009 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Continuing in the Putzmeister tradition the company is taking the industry to the next level with the 70Z-Meter.
“We’ve taken concrete placement to the extreme,” says Putzmeister America President and CEO, Dave Adams. “Dubbed ‘The Juggernaut’ for its size and power, the new 70Z-Meter offers over 227 feet of vertical reach and nearly 213 feet of horizontal reach. It is not only the world’s largest truck-mounted boom pump, it features technologies and support only available from Putzmeister.
“Many show attendees came to take a look at and learn more about the 70Z at our booth during the show; some were even taking pictures of themselves next to the machine. It's motivating to see how excited the industry is over this innovative feat and what it means for the future of truck-mounted boom pumps.”
Standard on all models 52Z-Meters and larger, including the 70Z-Meter, Putzmeister’s exclusive Ergonic® technology, initially debuted as a standard on the 63Z-Meter pump in early 2005, allows the operator to set parameters that control the pump, the boom and many other operational functions. The Ergonic Pump Control System (EPS) is just one of several modules in the Ergonic system. Ergonic Boom Control (EBC) with OneTouch™ and Ergonic Tele Service (ETS) which offers real-time remote diagnosis of the unit operation in the field are other exclusive technological features.
The boom on the 70Z-Meter is a five-section Z-Fold design that allows maximum flexibility. Operators can deploy in both ‘Z’ positions and the popular ‘A-Frame’ configuration, depending on application requirements. Like all Putzmeister boom pumps from the compact 20Z on up, this new model has a modular bolt-on flatpack and free flow hydraulic system. It offers the same smooth and reliable pumping performance operators expect from all Putzmeister models.
The first 70Z arrived in the United States on August 22, 2008 at the San Diego harbour in California, after a 3-week trek, 8,635 nautical miles (16,000km) by ship after departing Aichtal, Germany. The first proud owner of the world's largest concrete truck-mounted boom pump in the world is Associated Concrete Pumping of Sacramento, California.
“Our customers are eager to use this machine on their job sites,” comments Bill Dwyer, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Putzmeister. “The first 70Z manufactured has been on multiple job sites already in the U.S.”
The 70Z-Meter features an outside turning radius of only 59' (18m), allowing the chassis to be easily maneuvered on the road or on the job. In addition, the unit’s 180° working range in One-Sided Support (OSS) mode gives the 70Z-Meter the ability to make the most efficient use of its vertical and horizontal reach in congested areas.
