Putzmeister Embarks on Fifth Expansion of Its North American Headquarters Facility
Putzmeister Embarks on Fifth Expansion of Its North American Headquarters FacilitySturtevant, Wis. (January 10, 2006) – Putzmeister America is embarking on its fifth plant expansion since it first opened its North American facilities and manufacturing plant in Sturtevant, Wisconsin in 1994.
“Our continued growth in new product development backed by solid after-market support continues to advance the company,” says Dave Adams, President and CEO of Putzmeister America. “In response, we’re adding more capacity and reorganizing our work processes for improved efficiency and reduced customer lead times.”
The current $5 million expansion is being accomplished in two stages. The first phase slated for completion in March 2006 includes a 4,560 sq. ft. expansion to increase office space. The extra offices are needed for additional personnel as Putzmeister has almost tripled production since mid-2003.
The second phase will add 20,000 sq. ft. of production space and 8,000 sq. ft. for a new receiving area and warehouse. This will assist in meeting the increased sales demand for the company’s concrete placing equipment and provide capacity for the new production needs of the company’s Water Technology products. Parts inventory needed to support the growing population of units in the field will also be housed in the additional space. The anticipated completion date for phase two is November 2006.
Averaging an expansion every two years, Putzmeister has continued to enhance its U.S. headquarters located on the company’s original 27 acres in Sturtevant, Wisconsin.
