STURTEVANT, Wis. (August 1, 2006) – In July, Putzmeister America welcomed Wolfgang Drautz, Consul General of the German Consulate in Chicago and officers of the Midwest chapter of the German-American Chamber of Commerce (GACCoM) to the company’s 235,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facilities.

Putzmeister America’s company officers provided a specially arranged tour of its Sturtevant, Wisconsin operation to showcase its state-of-the-art manufacturing processes, the importance of its dedicated workforce and the mutually beneficial business relationship between the American-based company and its worldwide headquarters in Aichtal, Germany.

“Our successful business accomplishments in America support both our organization and our German parent company with increased growth and additional jobs,” says Dave Adams, President and CEO of Putzmeister America. “Our important visitors were able to observe firsthand the significant value that can be achieved by German companies investing in America.”

Located in an area with 30% of its population having German ancestry, the German Consulate in Chicago has existed for about 100 years. Therefore, one of the Consulate’s tasks is to foster economic, trade and business cooperation between Germany and the USA. The prestigious visit to Putzmeister by the head of the Consulate in Chicago offered him a better understanding of the positive progress being attained.

Putzmeister also welcomed officers from the Midwest Chapter of the GACCoM, an organization dedicated to promoting and assisting in the expansion of bilateral trade and investment between Germany and the USA. President and CEO Simone Pohl and Barbara Zollmann, VP and Secretary took the opportunity to observe the Putzmeister facility in operation as well as view the construction of Putzmeister’s current 28,000 sq. ft. plant expansion. Vicki Fox, Director of Mergers & Acquisitions for Emory Business Valuation and a tour organizer was also in attendance.

As a member of GACCoM, Putzmeister America is highly active within the association. During the spring of 2006, GACCoM appointed Matthias Heinz, VP-Finance and CFO of Putzmeister America as a director on its board. Heinz has held several positions with the domestic and international Putzmeister organization, offering great insight for his new role. In April of 2005, GACCoM also awarded Putzmeister America with the association’s prestigious MERLIN Award, which honors companies located in the Midwest and Germany for their exceptional achievements in German-American business.
